The Zangs - The People

Maoxian (茂县) - Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟) - Dagu Glacier (达谷冰川)
Sichuan (四川), China (中国)
March-April 2013

Although brief, Merlion Wayfarer had a chance to meet Tibetans (藏族人) while in Sichuan. And being a typical city frog in the well (井底蛙), meeting someone from a different culture was a whole new experience each time...

Tall, much taller than Merlion Wayfarer are they! The man in the grey suit, a non-Tibetan,
is around 1.7m and the two ladies on his right are at least 1.75m tall...

The bonfire dance is characterized by lots of loud whopping calls and clapping. Merlion Wayfarer admits that they do have a very good sense of rhythm (much better than her!)...

Both the men and women are extremely good-looking,
with their height, fair complexion, rosy cheeks and well-structured cheekbones...

Even the young have very ruddy cheeks. This is due to the fresh mountain air
and the exposure to sunlight at high altitudes...

As a guest, you are welcomed with warmth and friendliness...

Ethnic minorities are not limited by the one-child policy,
yet each child is the pride and joy of the family...

Broad-chested, wiry-haired performers in the 藏迷 Tibetan Cultural Show
at the Jiuzhaigou Zang Mi Theatre (九寨沟藏迷大剧场)...

Comb-making artisans in the Jiuzhaigou Folk Culture Village (九寨沟民俗文化村)...
